The programme provides candidates with opportunities to gain experience across each of Axiom’s business departments before selecting their individual specialisms. A long-standing partnership with neighbouring college, Coleg y Cymoedd, allows our apprentices to secure industry qualifications, whilst building real world experiences through hands-on learning practices.
Over the past decade, many of our apprentices have continued their career development with Axiom. Their dedication to our customers, and work to advance the standards of our industry, now finds former apprentices in senior leadership roles at Axiom. This includes sharing the knowledge and the experience they have built at Axiom, with new apprentices joining our team.
Axiom’s apprenticeship scheme promotes self-growth and professional development, exposing individuals to real-life industry situations and allowing them to apply their engineering knowledge to gain in-valuable experience.
Creating relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers along the way has been extremely rewarding for me as it continues to strengthen my ability to deliver results.
Axiom offers two types of apprenticeships:
Administration and Engineering Administration apprentices will develop business understanding and administrative skills, working alongside experienced colleagues, including account managers or planners, to understand Axioms business functions. Combining theory and practical learning, they’ll apply knowledge gained from an NVQ in business administration within their company duties.
Engineering apprentices will learn Axioms key processes and procedures by following a hands-on training plan within each internal department, having the ability to choose a specialist department to further improve their professional development. Applying knowledge gained from the HNC to Axiom and its operations, most apprentices will also go on to undertake the foundation degree.
